Learn the rewarding art of hand quilting! Jo demonstrates each
step needed to complete a small wall hanging. Her techniques
are easy to follow and interesting to watch. Jo begins by
describing the basic tools you need to start quilting. Since both
the quilting and piecing are done by hand, you don’t need a
sewing machine or expensive tools. She describes the design,
tells you how to choose fabrics to fit that design, and explains
some tips for layout and cutting your fabric pieces. You are
then ready to start quilt pieces together. Jo teaches how to
sew basic stitches and describes the order in which you need
to stitch the pieces together. Next, she shows you how to
decorate your borders, apply batting and backing, and “quilt in
the ditch”. Finally you’re ready to bind the edges of your first
quilt. You now have a treasured heirloom to pass on for
generations!
